2022 Has Ended

2022 has ended, and another tumultuous year has left its imprint on us all.

Tumultuous should be a rarely used word, but as I think back to conversations that I have had this past year with you and others, it seems that these extraordinary events and experiences have rather become a constant.

As we continued the experience of regaining normalcy after the pandemic, “once-in-a lifetime” occurrences that shocked markets around the world continued. Whether it was interest rates shooting up 16-fold in a matter of weeks or war breaking out in Ukraine, information overload, conflicts, and tensions continued to manifest themselves around the world.

With the constant and erratic ebb and flow of life persisting, few things can be more important than your financial security. When investments are held within the context of a well-conceived plan, the management of the monies takes on that specific individual focus. Just ask the clients who this year finally retired, activating their income plan which we worked on for so many years. Others downsized and relocated to live the next chapter of their life in new locations. While others now manage inherited funds planned for them so many years ago.

Having a plan in place simply allows you to shut out the noise that will invariably persist around you. While I think we all know the saying “we make plans and God laughs”, I truly believe having financial plans in place allows us to focus on what can affect when the world seems to pull us in different directions, none of which we can change.

For me, and Women+Wealth Solutions, this was the year we celebrated my ‘sweet 16th year’ in private practice. It has been a privilege to work for clients who themselves work hard every day to do right by their families and communities. It feels we have matured together and have had the privilege to see financial plans and life’s road maps realized.

As we prepare for a New Year, I invite you take moment to count your blessings and align your financial house with your current life and future goals. Make sure to take time to care for your own mind, body and soul, and here’s to your success in 2023.
